There is no denying that on-demand streaming services are a fabulous and more convenient way to watch popular TV shows and films and they continually keep on surprising us. As we approach the new year, it is always an exciting time to find out what visual delights will be added to their streaming service and Amazon has confirmed that they have ordered the full series of five out of six pilots that were screened last month.
We are big fans here at FTVN of the Amazon Prime service, along with other online streaming companies and it is a great way to binge watch your favourite TV shows and films – until the end of a season and then you suffer withdrawals, but fear not Amazon Prime customers, there are great shows which are being renewed. You can already look forward to second seasons of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE,  HAND OF GOD and RED OAKS and now there is news of new shows joining the line up.Â
Joining them will be the first full series of HIGHSTON – a comedy following a 19-year-old who has celebrity friends only he can see; ONE MISSISSIPPI – a half hour autobiographical series inspired by the memoir of stand-up comedian Tig Notato; and political thriller PATRIOT about an intelligence officer who is trying to prevent Iran becoming nuclear capable.
Starring in those will be Lewis Pullman, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Chris Parnell in HIGHSTON, Casey Wilson in the Louis CK-produced ONE MISSISSIPPI, and Michael Dorman and Terry Quinn featuring in PATRIOT.
Also extended to full seasons are Z: THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING based on Jazz Age flapper Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald – the wife of author F. Scott – who will be played by Christina Ricci, as well as GOOD GIRLS REVOLT, which tells the story of women researchers seeking equal treatment at a news magazine in 1969, starring Anna Camp, Grace Gummer, Hunter Parrish and Jim Belushi.
There is so much to look forward to then, but unfortunately, we cannot confirm when your binge watching could commence as no dates have been set yet for when the shows will premiere.
