Godzilla v King Kong

The monster of all movie clashes is in the pipeline in the form of one of the biggest crossover movies of all time: King Kong vs Godzilla.

Deadline reports that Legendary Pictures is moving its upcoming KING KONG prequel movie KONG: SKULL ISLAND from Universal Pictures to Warner Bros. in order to align the franchise with Gareth Edwards’ GODZILLA.

There is no official title just yet for the crossover movie, but what we do know is that we can expect to see two of cinema’s biggest monsters having the mother of all showdowns in an epic battle that will reportedly come after GODZILLA 2, which is scheduled for release summer, 2018.

Godzilla vs King kong

It’s not the first time these two movie giants have fought it out on screen, as King Kong appeared in KING KONG VS GODZILLA, the third Godzilla film produced by the Japanese studio Toho in 1962. This is, however, the first mega-budget attempt to unite the two monsters on screen, and with modern CGI and computer wizardry, it certainly is an exciting prospect.

It won’t be long until we see Kong back on the screen, as Legendary’s KONG: SKULL ISLAND IS currently in pre-production and is set to go into production early 2016 for a release in March, 2017,. The film will star Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Corey Hawkins lined up to star.
