Entertainment One UK Ltd has released a brand new UK poster and trailer for A MONSTER CALLS. Take a look at the trailer above and the poster below.
Based on the award-winning fantasy novel by Patrick Ness and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible), A MONSTER CALLS features an all-star cast including Liam Neeson, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell and Sigourney Weaver, with newcomer Lewis MacDougall as Conor.
The film tells the story of 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) who attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.
The plot of the film in a way, is very reminiscent of Roald Dahl’s THE BFG or Studio Ghibli’s MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO, which will no doubt please fans who enjoyed those.Â
A MONSTER CALLS also features Liam Neeson who will star in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting monster of the title, and Sigourney Weaver as the maternal grandmother.
What do you think of the new trailer? Are you looking forward to seeing it on the big screen? Sound off in the comment box below!
A MONSTER CALLSÂ is in cinemas New Years Day, 2017.
I’ve seen the film and it is magical. It breaks away from the bombastic spectacle that saturates modern cinema and really resonates with audience, even leaving feelings of inspiration. I do think that the new trailer gives away a little too much though, an all too common trait.
