X-men: Apocalypse

In recent weeks Bryan Singer has been posting details for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE ON his Instagram – the newest movie in the saga is similar to its predecessor in that its source material focusses on time travel and a bleak future.

Singer has said that this will be the driving force of the film and will therefore feature the iconic characters at different point in their life. However, at the moment it is up in the air as to which members of the original cast will return. It may be for some characters that their X-Men: First Class version is present as well, as a newly cast younger version but not the original incarnation. The good thing about the character of Wolverine is that he hasn’t aged in many years due to what was done to him when a group of scientists tried to turn him into Weapon X. This means that they simply can’t cast a new youngster in the role, they have to bring Hugh Jackman back to have Wolverine’s presence in the story, and they kind of have to, like most X-Men stories Wolverine is key to Age Of Apocalypse.

Fans of X-Men are eagerly awaiting its arrival and in the mean time Singer is teasing them with pictures and clues from the set. A week ago Singer posted an image of the iconic Cerebro door (as seen above) with an interesting clue to go with it. The director said this about the image: “I know. Old door. But there’ll be something new behind it.” Speculation is of course flying…

More recently however, Singer posted something that has even the most knowledgeable fans scratching their heads. He posted an image of some rather abstract concept art from the film, the focus of which is a vast piece of machinery. It could well be one of the death bringing machines of Apocalypse, it would make sense given the look of the thing and of course the colour. The director accompanied the photo with this caption: “Some production art…I was a little busy but will continue to snap more”.

Well you get to it, Singer I need more set photos!
