Although the event was prematurely abandoned due to COVID-19, the London Independent Film Festival 2020 – held at the Genesis Cinema in Mile End, East London – still managed to retain a sense of real glamour and energy when it opened on 13th March 2020 with the brand-new French independent romance L’AGE D’OR (THE GOLDEN AGE)

London Independent Film Festival 2020

Multi-hyphenate lead Jenna Suru was in attendance, as were some of the key figures of London’s ever-thriving independent film-making scene – and Film and TV Now’s John Higgins was there as part of the action, as well as reviewing the film – the link which can be seen here:

The Red Carpet was certainly buzzing with excitement, especially for Suru, whose film is destined to make waves in the coming year:

The message, which was pointed out by one member of the audience during the event, is to believe in art and yourself as a way of expression and hope for the future – and the film THE GOLDEN AGE is proof that anything is possible from anyone if they apply their skills and talents.
