Paris International Film Festival Director Jenna Suru is proud to announce today the latest addition to the Jury Members of the Festival:

Actress, Pro-Athlete, Writer, and Producer: CARRIE BERNANS

Maximizing the ABCs of life at full flame, Carrie Bernans is ā€œDā€ EFG ā€“ Defining EmmyExcellence as a Futuristic-Global force, a captivating role model, and philanthropist!

Carrie recently wrapped Marvel’s phenomenal Black Panther and Avengers End Game as a Dora Milijae warrior fighting for #Wakanda alongside Black Panther, and she also has appeared in Marvelā€™s Avengers Infinity War, X-Men, The Dark Phoenix, SWAT on FOX, CBS Seal Team, Reno 911 on Quibi, and stars as a series regular in the hottest summer series of 2020, Ultimate Tag on FOX as the character, the Banshee.

She also has recently wrapped up producing a film in Atlanta, has a current web series out called, Figuring it Out that she coproduced and co-wrote. She is presently pitching her pilot, The Catch-Up and working on other exciting projects in the writing, producing, and acting categories. Carrie, like the Black Panther, ā€œā€¦has a good heart, and gives us a real hero[ine] ā€”strong and honorable, and when possible, even filled with grace.ā€

Carrie Bernans was born in the Richmond, VA area with the magical enthusiasm and talents she is known for and where change became an early yet conquerable constant for her as a little girl. Carrie grew up poor-of-goods and wealthy-of-mind to two parents that soon split while she and her sister were toddlers.

With a single-parent teenage-mother and an early nomadic lifestyle from Virginia to Panama, Central America, back to Virginia and to the townships along the Eastern and Southern U.S. coast, these childhood experiences reflectively prepared Carrie for extensive independent traveling and coaching abroad in Shanghai, China; Paris, France; London, England; Ghana, Africa, and Berlin, Germany, which contributes greatly to her storytelling.

Carrie looks forward to continuing more travels abroad, discovering more of the world and learning more about her African culture which she holds and values dear to her. ā€œThe true measure of leadership is influence ā€“ Nothing More, Nothing Less.ā€

Carrie is a multi-level, frequently solicited motivational speaker, producer, and influencer of brands. She is further differentiated by her language fluency. Therefore, be careful where you are and what language you are speaking, because Carrie masters the speaking, writing, and understanding of principal languages for global exchanges and story-telling, to wit: Spanish, Latvian, Mandarin Chinese, French, English, and Russian speaking for years from immersion in these countries and the friendships/relationships sheā€™s built internationally.

Carrie has also been featured in and alongside campaigns with Ford, Nike, Fast Company, Puma, Nautical, and more. Many popular shows on networks like CBS, FOX, BET, VH1, MTV, ABC, Netflix and others have been graced with her work.

Having thought of herself as the black girl, James Bond, and after years of studying Theater, Economics, and International dealings in college, Carrie performed in plays, dance recitals, had Fortune 500 internships, and competed in track and field from middle school through the pro area.

(Carrie networked and trained even as a high school student with real investment bankers and accountants as her mentors to do Merger & Acquisition simulations on the Vanderbilt, Emory, and Columbia University campuses.)

Carrie is always eager and always ready to conquer anything the world throws her way. She believes in eating challenges for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can read more about Carrie in her published works in magazines, and featured articles such as FastCompany, Variety, The Fox Magazine, and Marvel Universe online and more.

Her motto is ‘One Day or Day One-You Choose.’

In light of Suru’s announcement, Bernans had this to say about her selection as a Juror in the Paris International Film Festival:

ā€œIā€™m honored to be part of this dynamic team as a juror of the Paris International Film Festival 2020-2021. Thank you very much Jenna and her team for the invitation to get on board.ā€
