There is a big Marvel shaped hole in our lives now that Phase 3 of MCU has reached its dramatic (and brilliant) conclusion. However, there might be some good news on the horizon to help us deal with the end… It is possible that production might commence in 2020 for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.3!

Writer/director James Gunn is prepping production for the upcoming Warner Bros. and DC Extended Universe sequel The Suicide Squad, but according to reports, he could be making his return to MCU.

If this turns out to be the case, it will definitely be a busy couple of years for Gunn, who wrote and directed the first two films. Principal photography for The Suicide Squad is scheduled to commence in Atlanta, Georgia in September, but we will have to wait until August 2021 until we get to feast our eyes on the new movie.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was the surprise hit of the second phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, grossing nearly $775 million at the box office. It was loved by fans and critics for the comedy, emotion and on of course its super ’80s soundtrack.

The film was quickly followed by the sequel three years later and proved to be just as successful at the box office recording over $800 million, garnering praise from fans and critics around the world once more.
