Described by the film-makers as ‘a stylish comedy of Noir, cats, hats, love and misunderstanding’ ,  THE BIG KITTY is certainly a film that is going to stimulate interest thanks to the work of the artistically-focused Australian film-making team of Lisa Barmby and Tom Alberts, two prestigious talents who have already made waves in their key fields.

Barmby lived in Paris for five years, becoming fluent in French and becoming the first Australian to graduate from Cours Florent, as well as acting in student films. Alberts is a painter with a long study of life drawing and did a portrait of the current Governor General of Australia when he was Chief of the Australian Army.

THE BIG KITTY forms part of an amazing and exciting programme that the Paris International Film Festival is putting together for its’ virtual edition, which features many new International and World Premieres, as well as forums and panels talking about all manner of key issues that are affecting the film industry and production world as the world continues to be challenged by the global pandemic.
