All eyes have been on the BFI London Film Festival over the last few days, which has already played host to some big film premieres including SUFFRAGETTE and TRUMBO. On Friday evening, it was the turn of HIGH-RISE to take centre stage on the red carpet in the capital.
The stars of the film Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller, James Purefoy, Â and director Ben Wheatley all hit the red carpet for the premiere and greeted fans and the media at the event.
J.G Ballard’s HIGH-RISE is a kind of dystopian fairy-tale about the relations, tensions and violence that develop between a group of people, some of them better off than others but none of them truly poor, when they choose to live in a luxurious new tower block – and, after a while, decide not to leave it. Not so much babes in the wood as adults in a tower, with the results a lot more shocking.
The book was written in the 1970s and that’s when the film is set, sideburns, shag-pile and all. Ballard’s three main characters – Laing, Royal and Wilder – are played by Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons and Luke Evans respectively and the film also stars Sienna Miller.
