X-Men Days of Future Past continues to pul in the audience in its latest installment.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past off to a smashing start after breaking records with $281 million worldwide in its opening weekend – the highest gross for any film in the franchise.

The latest film in the series stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, who collectively have helped to bring the infamous characters to life as the film stormed into cinemas across the world late last week.

Its global opening haul means it has nearly equalled the lifetime gross of the first X-Men movie back in 2000, which netted $296m in its entire time in cinemas; just $15m more than DAYS OF FUTURE PAST made in just a few short days.

The top-grossing film remains as 2006’s THE LAST STAND, which made $459m around the globe, bagging an astonishing $234m in the US alone.

Last outing, 2013’s The Wolverine, made $414m globally, of which $132.5m was stateside, once again showing the love for the popular franchise across the pond.

With many of the characters depriving their role, additions such as popular actress, Jennifer Lawrence, certainly helps to draw in the audience of the new film and attract more viewers.

Regardless of star power, the film has received mixed reviews since its release, but it has certainly not failed to pull in the audience at the box office.
