Spider-Man

It seems the next Spider-Man movie has found someone to write and direct the film for Sony and Marvel Studios and it appears it is likely to be Drew Goddard.

Goddard had originally been tipped to direct spinoff Sinister Six, even leaving Netflix’s Daredevil to focus on the sequel, but now it seems that things are set to change as the director will now be re-assigned to re-launch the Spider-Man franchise with a new film unconnected to Marc Webb‘s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN series, according to Latino Review.

Goddard is no stranger to bringing a popular superhero to the big screen as he is a veteran of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON director Joss Whedon‘s television shows BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL, in addition to writing CLOVERFIELD and WORLD WAR Z. They’re quite the credentials on his filming and scriptwriting CV.

Spider-Man’s next solo outing has been dated for July 28th, 2017, and we also get to see Spidey weaving his web in upcoming Marvel Studios movies, but don’t expect to see Andrew Garfield in these films, as it has been revealed that there will be a younger actor taking on the role. Naturally there has been a lot of interest amongst young Hollywood in the casting of this role and Josh Hutcherson and Donald Clover have not hidden their desire to don the infamous suit, but there are no confirmations as to who will secure the role.

With such a great choice of young actors to choose from, who would you like to see cast next?
