Warner Bros. UK. has shared the official announcement for Christopher Nolan’s epic action thriller, ‘DUNKIRK’, which comes to cinemas July 21st 2017.
There is no denying that DUNKIRK features a very prestigious cast, including Tom Hardy (“The Revenant,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Inception”), Mark Rylance (“Bridge of Spies,” “Wolf Hall”), Kenneth Branagh (“My Week with Marilyn,” “Hamlet,” “Henry V”) and Cillian Murphy (“Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy), as well as newcomer Fionn Whitehead.
The ensemble cast also includes Harry Styles (One Direction) making his feature film debut. Who hasn’t seen the photos of him on set yet?! Not to mention the buzz surrounding him about the new haircut!
The teaser doesn’t give too much away as we see panoramic shots of the sea with soldiers in the background, buried bodies in the sand and of course the deadly sounds of the sirens.
Christopher Nolan has helmed impressive films in the past including INTERSTELLAR, INCEPTION (which also starred Tom Hardy) and THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY, so with him also directing DUNKIRK from his own original screenplay, utilizing a mixture of IMAX and 65mm film to bring the story to the screen, we are pretty excited to see what he delivers this time around too.
DUNKIRK OPENS as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea, they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
It all sounds very intriguing and we can’t wait for this one. Roll on next year!
