Step aside James Bond – there is another new spy thriller hitting the big screen… The brand new SPOOKS trailer shows Kit Harington is just as handy with a pistol as he is at wielding a sword…

The Spy thriller is based on the hit BBC drama of the same name and sees Kit Harington make his first appearance as former MI5 agent Will Crombie alongside Peter Firth‘s legendary Spooks character, Harry Pearce.

In the film, Harry, the Head of Counter-terrorism, needs Will’s help to clear his name after the charismatic terrorist Adam Qasim escapes from MI5 custody during a routine handover.

As Qasim prepares his devastating attack on the heart of MI5 in London, Will must decide whether to turn Harry in – or risk everything by trusting the damaged, dangerous master spy who has already betrayed him once before.

The trailer begins with the daring escape and Qasim’s getaway on the back of a motorcycle, before viewers are introduced to Kit diving through a window and being picked up by an accomplice.

Kit then has to uncover the truth behind his mentor’s disappearance while trying to stay alive in the process.

The plot thickens when the young agent finally does track down his old boss, as it seems the break was an inside job.

SPOOKS ran for 86 episodes from 2002 to 2011 and featured some big names, including David Oyelowo who gained international fame for his portrayal of Martin Luther King in SELMA and Richard Armitage who impressed in his role as Thorin in The Hobbit trilogy.

The movie also stars PRIDE AND PREJUDICE’s Jennifer Ehle as Geraldine Maltby, and Lara Pulver as Erin Watts.

SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD is set for release in UK cinemas on May 8th.
