The STAR WARS: FORCE AWAKENS panel kicked off to a very noisy start with Harrison Ford receiving a standing ovation at San Diego Comic-Con and also an exclusive behind-the-scenes video was also played out to the eager audience.

Filmmaker J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy were eventually joined on stage Friday by STAR WARS veterans and FORCE AWAKEN stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

In the video below, we have all of the best bits from the Comic Con panel including the Hall H panel and interviews with director J.J. Abrams, who was joined by Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Domhnall Gleeson who were all on hand representing the bad guys. As the mysterious three-pronged lightsaber-wielding Kylo Ren’s Driver tried to skirt any questions about his character.

Ford, making his first public appearance since his plane crash in March left him hospitalized and injured, assured the audience and host Chris Hardwick that he was fine. The already excitable crowd exploded when Ford, the last to be introduced, walked out.

The entire stadium-sized convention hall filled with over 7000 fans broke the gathering’s strict no-standing rule in unison to greet the recently injured actor.

Fans screamed for Ford at the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Comic-Con panel in San Diego on Friday evening, but the scene in the crowd was bedlam after director JJ Abrams asked the audience, “Who wants to go see a live Star Wars concert right now?

The panel itself was one of the most highly anticipated at the convention, with queues standing for days to be let in.

There was no new footage from the film, just a behind-the-scenes reel (which was warmly received) emphasizing the non-computerized nature of many of the movie’s special effects and locations.
