Tom Hardy is back on the small screen later this year…
Tom Hardy’s name is everywhere at the moment thanks to his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for THE REVENANT, one of the best movies of the year, which he starred in with Leonardo DiCaprio. With so much award season buzz in the air, now is a good time to see what other intriguing characters the British actor will be treating us to later in the year thanks to the release of the first trailer for upcoming TV series, TABOO. In typical Hardy style, the talented star of both TV and film isn’t interested in lapping up the limelight, he just carried on filming the TV series TABOO as normal during the excitement surrounding the Academy Awards. He revealed exactly how he find out about the Oscar nomination at the premiere of THE REVENANT and informed us that he was shooting a rather awkward scene when he found out… Missed the interview? Now his attentions have turned to TABOO and it looks like we are in for another treat and riveting performance from Hardy. For the series, he has reteamed with his LOCKE writer and director Steven Knight, to create the eight-episode series.
TABOO is set in 1814, and the story follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a dangerous game with two warring nations, Britain and America.
TABOO sees Jonathan Pryce, Michael Kelly, Oona Chaplin, and more completing the casting ensemble.
TABOO will hit FX later this year, and we certainly can’t wait for it…
