Even though FAST AND FURIOUS 7 is still roaring away at the worldwide box office (with a grand total of $1.5 billion worldwide, the fourth film ever to do so), Vin Diesel is already starting to promote the next installment from the hugely popular action franchise.

Taking to Instagram today Diesel teased the possible location for Fast and Furious 8.

It looks as if the New York, the big apple, the city that never sleeps, will indeed be receiving some major carnage at the hands of Vin Diesel and the rest of his Furious crew. A New York setting would be a welcome addition to the franchise, which has already burnt rubber at many famous locations around the world including London, Los Angles, Abu Dhabi and Rio.

This image from Diesel comes only a month and a half from the film’s initial announcement at cinema con 2015 where the star took the stage to talk about the film. However this information means that a script, or at the very least, a concept for the film has been discussed and possibly finalised.

No news on the film’s story yet, but the current popular fan theory revolves around Kurt Russell‘s secret agent character, Mr. Nobody, and will introduce Diesel and the rest of the crew to the world of underground espionage. This theory seems to work as, lets all face it, the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise has only improved since the plots have become more abstract and off the wall. James Bond better watch out!

Although not officially confirmed, it’s expected many of the actors introduced in previous films will return to star in FAST AND FURIOUS 8. No director is currently announced, a while ago it was expected that FURIOUS 7 director James Wan would return, however Wan is now rumoured to be committed to direct Warner Bros’ upcoming AQUAMAN Mmvie.
