Merry Christmas to all of us! A fantastic new trailer has been revealed by the BBC for their upcoming new drama, TABOO, which stars the fabulous Tom Hardy. Check it out in the video player above.
The British actor is certainly not afraid to strip down and bare all, as we see Hardy in action in the new mini-series scheduled for release in the new year.
In TABOO, Tom Hardy plays a man returning to 1814 London after 10 years of being away in Africa. He returns to reclaim the remnants of his father’s shipping empire and seek vengeance on those responsible after being presumed dead by those he left behind in his village. Whilst uncovering a mysterious legacy left by his murdered father, he is driven to start a war of revenge- stuck between a warring Britain and America.
THE REVENANT star plays the role of adventurer James Keziah Delaney – who builds his own shipping empire in the early 1800s. The screenplay for the film showcases Hardy’s writing talents too, as he has penned the script with his father and they have also produced the series under their own production company, Hardy Son & Baker alongside the fantastic Ridley Scott and the show’s creator Steven Knight.
The series has been directed by Kristoffer Nyholm and the eight-part will also star HOUSE OF CARDS actor Michael Kelly, BRAZIL star Jonathan Pryce and GAME OF THRONES’ Oona Chaplin.Â
It is great to see that Tom Hardy, who was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category at the Oscars, is continuing to work in TV, a home which he has remained very comfortable in, particularly with shows like PEAKY BLINDERS under his belt.Â
