A new trailer has been released for Universal Pictures and Working title’s biopic The Theory of Everything.
Tissues at the ready of this one – and we don’t mean for the film, but for the emotional new trailer.
THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING tells the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde, the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960s.
Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with a fatal illness at 21 years of age. He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children.Â
As Stephen’s body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both of their lives.
The film was inspired by Wilde’s memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen and stars Eddie Redmayne who plays Stephen Hawking and Felicity Jones as his wife Jane. The touching new trailer gives an insight more into their relationship from the moment of Stephen’s diagnosis with motor neuron disease through to their difficulty dealing with it. Â
Emily Watson, David Thewlis and Charlie Cox also co-star in director James Marsh‘s film.
If the trailer has the power to be so moving, we can only imagine how emotional the biopic will be in its entirety. We can’t wait to watch it. We can smell an Oscar buzz around this film already…
