The trailer for the new Western The Homesman has been released by Entertainment One UK Ltd.
The new trailer for THE HOMESMAN has landed and it boasts a stellar cast.
The film follows the story of Mary Bee Cuddy (Hilary Swank) who is an independent and resourceful frontier woman, conditioned to living life of solitude and hard work in America’s West in the 1850’s.
Lonely and isolated, when the preacher (John Lithgow) breaks the news that three local women have been declared insane and are to be transported to a safe haven across the barren country, Mary Bee volunteers for the dangerous and arduous task of taking them to Iowa.
Upon stumbling across reprobate claim-jumper George Briggs (Tommy Lee Jones), Mary Bee saves his life but on condition that he assists with escorting the three women.
The film is about the pairing of two unlikely people whose courage and resilience is tested as they are both pushed to their limits.
With an all-star, academy award winning cast including Hilary Swank (MILLION DOLLAR BABY), Tommy Lee Jones (THE FUGITIVE), Meryl Streep (IRON LADY), John Lithgow, Mirando Otto, Sonja Richter and Hailee Steinfeld, THE HOMESMAN has been marked as the best Western since UNFORGIVEN, by BBC 5 Live.
Eight years after THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA, Tommy Lee Jones uses his directorial talents in this gritty Western.
Based on the book by Glendon Swarthout, THE HOMESMAN looks to be an exciting film that will paint a poignant picture of a spirit-crushing era.
The beautifully crafted film will be released in cinemas on November 21st.
