goldenglobes-71stnominations-MadholeSunday night in LA and the red carpet (which was temporarily sodden by a burst pipe) came to life with the Golden Globes ceremony underway.  The Awards saw several of the Oscar frontrunners leaving with an award or two in hand, with films like 12 YEARS A SLAVE, GRAVITY and AMERICAN HUSTLE all enjoying a successful evening.

Steve McQueen’s 12 YEARS A SLAVE and David O. Russell’s AMERICAN HUSTLE scooped the two biggest awards of the night, with 12 YEARS A SLAVE winning Best Picture, Drama and AMERICAN HUSTLE walked away with Best Picture in the Comedy and Musical category.

As predicted, Alfonso Cuarón was celebrated as the Best Director for his box office success, GRAVITY.

Matthew McConaughey was awarded with the prestigious Best Actor in a Drama award for his performance in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB.

AMERICAN HUSTLE can add Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards to their collection with Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence coming up trumps respectively in their categories and Leonardo DiCaprio walked away with his award for THE WOLF OF WALL STREET.
