Gloves Up! The new trailer for CREED has landed and it has brought with it, a clear look at the ROCKY spinoff starring Michael B. Jordan.

The film is being brought to the big screen by Ryan Coogler, who helmed Jordan in the critically acclaimed (and utterly brilliant – you can read our review here) 2013 drama FRUITVALE STATION. CREED focuses on the grandson of the late former heavyweight champ Apollo Creed, who perished way back in ROCKY III.

Adonis finds a father figure in Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, who has no interest in adding further titles to his collection or stepping ingot he ring to fight once more. However, the Italian Stallion is ready to be put out to pasture: he takes his friend’s son under his wing as a trainer — one who clearly remembers some of Mickey’s fortune cookie wisdom.

“You see that guy staring back at you? That’s your toughest opponent,” Rocky tells his reluctant protege in one scene where they stand in front of a mirror.

“I believe that’s true in the ring and I believe that’s true in life, too.”

Creed

With CREED, it will no doubt fair well to see a new face packing on the muscle in the movie and looks like it could definitely be a tong box office contender.

Joining Stallone and Jordan in the film are Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad.

CREED will be released in UK Cinemas in 2016.
