Star Wars The Force Awakens

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS surpasses $1 billion in record time!

This may not come as much of a surprise, but STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS has continued to smash Box Office records around the globe. The smash hit movie has hit $1 billion at the box office faster than any other movie in history.

According to the Associated Press, the movie has reached the money-milestone today – and it has happened far more quickly than people had expected. Already, THE FORCE AWAKENS now holds the record for biggest domestic opening and biggest worldwide opening, as well as the fastest movie to reach $1 billion – but that amount is still set to soar, as the film doesn’t open in China until January 9th, 2016.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the movie stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow.
