Sky Cinema is bringing the excitement of animation to the whole family this October, offering both classic and new animation titles on a bespoke channel for the first time.

Launching on Saturday 14 October, and on air for three weeks, Sky Cinema customers can enjoy the very best family-friendly animations on a dedicated Sky service. Sky Cinema Animation, found on channel 306, is the ideal destination for film lovers this October half term, with movies to be enjoyed at no extra cost to Sky Cinema customers.

Over the past 12 months, animated films have proved a real hit at the box office and Sky Cinema Animation will have over 60 titles to choose from, including The Secret Life of Pets which was one of the highest grossing movies of 2016. Also available to viewers On Demand and on NOW TV, the animation collection includes hit new releases such as Sing and Oscar-nominated Trolls, as well as classic Disney family favourites Robin Hood, The Emperor’s New Groove and Mulan.

As part of the dedicated animation service, the channel will also celebrate animation on Saturday 4 November, for ‘Ice Age Day’. For 13 hours, fans will be able to enjoy a day with Sid, Manfred and Scrat in movies such as: Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs and Ice Age: Collision Course.

Sky Cinema’s animation channel will also mark the 80th anniversary of Disney’s classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – the first feature-length Disney film, which gave birth to the modern animation genre.

The channel will continue to run over the Halloween period and customers can tune into Sky Cinema’s special ‘Family Frights Day’ on 31 October. Family-friendly spooky animated titles will be available on the day, such as Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie and The Nightmare Before Christmas – a light bite as part of the Halloween festivities on Sky Cinema.

Sky Cinema Animation is the latest innovative channel in an exciting 2017 on the channel that has brought the biggest movies and moments from the world of film to homes throughout the UK at just £10pcm. From Sky Cinema Oscars in February to Sky Cinema Fast and Furious in April and Sky Cinema Sky-Fi in September, the channel brings together the biggest and best films that customers want to watch in new and inventive ways, re-affirming its status as the country’s leading in-home movies service.
