Legends Of Tomorrow

Following the success of SUPERGIRL, Sky 1 has announced on Wednesday a further boost for fans of super hero drama: DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW will soon be landing on the channel in 2016.

Based on the iconic DC Comics characters drawn from the same universe as The Flash and Arrow, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW reinforces Sky’s successful line-up of super hero action dramas, which are some of the best performing shows on the channel.

SUPERGIRL’s recent launch attracted a consolidated audience of 1.64 million – the largest for a series launch on Sky 1 since 2013. And its success continues, as it draws in an average weekly audience of over 1.1m.

SUPERGIRL has followed in the footsteps of THE FLASH and ARROW, both of which have loyal fan bases, and are now airing Season 2 and Season 4 on Sky 1 respectively. Season 4 of ARROW has been attracting some of its biggest audiences since 2013, and THE FLASH is one of Sky 1’s top performing shows ever.

Adam MacDonald, director of Sky 1, commented: “Hot on the heels of the amazing success of Supergirl, I’m really pleased to announce that another exciting comic-book drama is coming to the channel. From the team behind our three best-loved superhero shows and with a great high-profile cast, there’s real pedigree behind DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. And it’s set in the same world as The Flash and Arrow, too, so it couldn’t be more suited to Sky 1. Our customers are going to love it.”

In DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), having seen the future, must put together a group of both heroes and villains to take on the formidable, unstoppable threat of Vandal Savage – a threat that not only puts the planet but all of time itself at stake.

Starring Victor Garber (THE FLASH, ALIAS), Brandon Routh (ARROW, SUPERMAN RETURNS), Arthur Darvill (DOCTOR WHO), Caity Lotz (ARROW) Ciara Renée (THE FLASH), Franz Drameh (EDGE OF TOMORROW, ATTACK THE BLOCK), with Dominic Purcell (THE FLASH, PRISON BREAK) and Wentworth Miller (THE FLASH, PRISON BREAK), the electrifying series brings together iconic DC characters including Firestorm, The Atom, White Canary, Hawkgirl, Captain Cold and Heatwave to fight the immortal threat of Vandal Savage.

From Berlanti Productions, the creators of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, comes this epic super hero team-up. Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Blindspot), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow, Fringe), Marc Guggenheim (Arrow), Phil Klemmer (Chuck, The Tomorrow People) and Sarah Schechter (The Flash, Arrow, The Mysteries of Laura, Supergirl). Distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW joins a top-quality host of drama on Sky 1. The channel’s ambitious new line-up of fresh, feel good and modern entertainment includes shows such as original drama YOU, ME AND THE APOCALYPSE  (Rob Lowe, Mathew Baynton), which is on air now, the upcoming FUNGUS THE BOGEYMAN ( Timothy Spall, Victoria Wood) and LUCKY MAN (James Nesbitt, Sienna Guillory).
