At this weekend’s Sherlocked UK fan event, the first two series 4 episode SHERLOCK titles were announced…

The titles were revealed during this weekend’s UK fan event Sherlocked, but in a tweet on Saturday (September 25) the BBC allowed the rest of us to catch up by posting the two titles.

“We can confirm that the titles of Sherlock Series Four, episodes one and two are ‘The Six Thatchers’ and ‘The Lying Detective’,” said the channel.

Like in previous seasons, the names seem to allude to titles from Arthur Conan Doyle’s original 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories.

In terms of storyline, ‘The Six Thatchers’ seems to link most closely with Doyle’s The Adventure Of The Six Napoleons. This one seems to tally up with the “Thatcher” tease announced at this year’s SDCC, which had fans theorising about former UK prime ministers, rural roofers and brands of bottled cider!

The second episode, The Lying Detective, seems slightly more obvious in its naming and what it means. It could be a spin on the book series’ The Adventure Of The Dying Detective, the story in which Culverton Smith appears.

All we can say at this point is we CANNOT WAIT to get the series back on the TV screens again! It has been too long, folks!
