Macbeth

These photos of Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard have definitely got us a little bit excited about the release of MACBETH.

Unfortunately, we do have to wait a while before we are able to see the film, as MACBETH receives its premiere next month at the Cannes Film Festival, debuting the latest interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic Macbeth.

In the three new images, we get to see a regal looking Michael Fassbender (photo above) looking every inch a man of royalty in his titular role and Marion Cotillard is his Lady Macbeth (see the photo below).

The images offer a look at the good and bad times for both main characters. The photo at the top sees the duo enjoying a formal, tender moment, while the other two images show them looking more weary, no doubt from the well-known perils that befall both of them.

MACBETH is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of literature’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn Scotland.

After the release of the photos, we are no itching to see the official trailer for the movie, which is directed by Justin Kurzel, who is reteaming with both Fassbender and Cotillard for 2016’s ASSASSIN’S CREED adaptation.

MACBETH will premiere in Cannes, but is scheduled for release in October 2015.
