Yann Demange’s critically acclaimed hit ’71 has unveiled a brand new teaser clip from the film and a limited edition vinyl soundtrack poster from the composer, David Holmes.
The Belfast born DJ & producer is also known for scoring the award winning titles Hunger, Cherrybomb, The Shore and the BBC series ‘The Fall‘ which was nominated for an RTS Craft & Design Award in 2013.
The film stars Jack O’Connell (Unbroken, Starred Up), Sam Reid, Sean Harris (Macbeth, Deliver us from Evil), Charlie Murphy (Philomena), Killian Scott (Calvary, Good Vibrations), Martin McCann (X Plus Y, Killing Bono) and Paul Anderson.Â
Jack O’Connell plays Gary Hook, a young British soldier accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast. Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, the raw recruit must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorientating, alien and deadly landscape.
The film is a feature directorial debut of Yann Demange and is based on a screen play by acclaimed writer Gregory Burke (Black Watch).
Following its fantastic reception at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival, the explosive thriller ’71 will be premiering at the London Film Festival on Thursday 9th October (Second Screening on Friday 10th October) and is in competition for the prestigious Sutherland Award which recognises the most original and imaginative directorial debut.
The vinyl is available for pre-order and will be released on CD/Digital download from Friday 10th October on Amazon and iTunes.Â
