New Game of Thrones Cast for Season Five has been revealed.  The fantasy hit TV series will see new additions to the cast including Jonathan Pryce and Star Trek’s Alexander Siddig next season as revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Stars including Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Pedro Pascal and Maisie Williams joined the HBO show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and George R.R. Martin, the author of the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, on which the show is based.

Fans of the popular HBO show look set to be treated to further action, gore, battles and possible death scenes in the new series.   San Diego Comic-Con was ariff with speculation of who could be the next potential victims to be killed off after  new cast members were announced for the fifth season of the hit fantasy programme. 

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss introduced who the fans of the show will be watching next, including former Bond villain Jonathan Pryce, and STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE alum, Alexander Siddig, who proved to be a popular addition to the cast.  He will play Dornish ruler Doran Martell, brother to the late Prince Oberyn (Pedro Pascal).

It was revealed that Pryce will play the High Sparrow, described by HBO as “a devout and pious man(who came to King’s Landing to serve those forgotten by much of the world — the poor, the downtrodden and the infirm — and quickly amassed a large following.  His fellow believers have swarmed over the city, ministering to the lowest and decrying the corruption of the highest.”

Also, current cast members will be welcoming Keisha Castle-Hughes, who plays Obara Sand, the warrior daughter of Prince Oberyn.  Jessica Henwick and Rosabell Laurenti Sellers have been cast as her sisters, Nymeria and Tyene Sand.

There has also been a change in the role of Cersei’s daughter, Myrcella, who has been recast and will now be played by 14-year-old Nell Tiger Free who has taken over the role from Aimee Richardson.

There were some fun and games at the intervention as well,the event for the television hit kicked off with a humourous blooper reel being shared to fans from the mishaps and forgotten lines of series 4:

Unfortunately for us, we have to wait a little while longer for the next season – it will not be broadcasted until next spring!
