Caroline Blakiston called her POLDARK character, Aunt Agatha, fierce and forthright. “She is frightened of no one, while a lot of people are frightened of her because she is going to say the thing that will make them feel ashamed or uncomfortable. That is seen clearly through the relationship she has with the naughty George Warleggan, we have a wonderful hate-filled relationship.

We’ve enjoyed Aunt Agatha’s brutal honesty, but it was her said relationship with George which made for the most amusing engagements. Since he called her an “old hag” in series 2, the battle lines were drawn with Aunt Agatha making it her mission to antagonise George.

But Aunt Agatha sadly lost the war when George became the death of her in last week’s episode following a heated discussion.

So if you miss her presence during the next episode, watch the video below. (It mainly involves trolling George.)

POLDARK continues this Sunday on BBC One at 9:00pm.
