At the weekend, Glasgow was bombarded with film buffs, comic fans and film and TV stars who all headed to the SECC to take part in the Scotland MCM Comic Con.

If you were there, you probably bumped into Darth Vader, Doctor Who, Captain America and Loki to name but a few and if you weren’t we have many photos of fans in their costumes in the gallery below. LLER

Fans of comic books, sci-fi films and television, anime and cosplay were there in full force at the event of the year in Scotland.

Many fans have been dressing up as their favourite characters  for years and this year was no different.  With the rise of superhero movies, many excited attendees came dressed up as their favourite character and the amount of work and effort they put into their costumes and makeup was incredible.

An exciting array of special guests helped to pull the crowds in.  The local favourite was Scottish actor James Cosmo.  He was a very popular invitee who spent a lot of time signing autographs and taking photos with fans before participating in a question and answer session on stage.

The 66-year-old is mainly known for his role as Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch in GAME OF THRONES.  He has garnered quite the following and become well known to a whole new generation of young fans thanks to his Thrones role.

Scotland’s comic con weekend also featured Hollywood actor Luke Evans, who plays Bowman in THE HOBBIT trilogy and stars in upcoming film DRACULA UNTOLD.  Media and fans were treated to a very exclusive clip by Universal Pictures from the upcoming movie, which we have reviewed and later on, the Welsh actor spent a lot of time with his fans who were lucky ticket winners to have their photo taken with the star and receive a signed poster.  You can find out what Evans talked about during his Q&A here with an exclusive photo gallery.

The very funny Ian McNeice, who played Winston Churchill in Dr Who was also on hand to sign for the crowd and have his photograph taken.  On Saturday, he joined James Cosmo in the Losmond Auditorium where he discussed all things Doctor Who and joined in with a Q&A with fans in the auditorium.
