Although it had looked as if LUTHER star Idris Elba would be taking on the Merlin-esque role for the new King Arthur movie, that appears not to be the case, as the role is going to the brilliant Djimon Hounsou.
The BLOOD DIAMOND and GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY star is apparently very close to confirming the role in Guy Richie‘s new KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE and appears to be in the last stages of closing the deal.Â
He’d be joining the already stellar cast of Jude Law, Charlie Hunnam and Astrid Berges-Frisbey.
Richie seems to only improve with time and no doubt the scale of this film has the potential to be pretty impressive and with Warner Bros. hoping to kick off another lengthy franchise, the film is set for a six edition run!
The plot details are still being kept quiet, but we imagine it will run along the traditional lines, no doubt with some classic Richie humour added in.Â
