Good news for fans of Keanu Reeves and his hit movie JOHN WICK, Lionsgate has revealed that the action sequel, JOHN WICK: CHAPTER TWO will hit cinemas on February 10th, 2017.
Joining Keanu Reeves in the movie are returning characters including Winston (Ian McShane), Aurelio (John Leguizamo), Hotel Manager Charon (Lance Reddick), Jimmy (Tom Sadowski) and the title character’s deceased wife Helen Wick (Bridget Moynahan).
There will also be fresh faces joining JOHN WICK: CHAPTER TWO cast in the form of Laurence Fishburne (THE MATRIX TRILOGY), Ruby Rose (RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER), Riccardo Scamarcio (BURNT), Peter Stormare (22 JUMP STREET) and Common (SMOKIN’ ACES) playing the sequel’s main villain, the head of security for a female crime lord.
The current synopsis for the film reads as: In the follow up to last year’s adrenaline-fueled revenge and redemption thriller, legendary hit man John Wick is back.”
JOHN WICK: CHAPTER TWO will see Chad Stahelski in the director’s chair after he co-helmed the first movie, with JOHN WICK screenwriter Derek Kolstad also returning for the sequel.
JOHN WICK became an unexpected Box Office hit grossing more than $86 million worldwide and performed equally as well in the home entertainment market.
Lionsgate will be hoping that the second movie will perform equally well, if not better and will square up against THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US, THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, and FIFTY SHADES DARKER which are all released during the same week.
