Joe Robert Cole Black Panther

There’s some good news for this who are looking forward to Marvel’s long-awaited BLACK PANTHER movie, it seems as though a script could soon be in the works as Joe Robert Cole is in talks to write the screenplay.

Marvel appear to be very keen to have Cole on board, but there are no directors in line for the 2018 movie at present, and the studio does not intend to reach out to any until Cole’s script is complete.

Cole – also rumoured to have had a crack at the ‘Inhumans’ script – is a member of Marvel’s in-house writer’s room, which also includes Nicole Perlman, the original writer of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY who is currently co-writing CAPTAIN MARVEL with Meg LaFauve.

Although Cole is a well-known director, this does not mean he will necessarily be helming the movie too, but never say never…

According to reports, SELMA’s Ava DuVernay was known to be in talks for taking the film, but ultimately declined, whilst another rumoured contender F Gary Gray now looks set to direct the eighth FAST & FURIOUS movie so that may ne a hindrance if he wants to be involved in BLACK PANTHER.

So it seems we may have to wait until our speculations become confirmations, but what we do know is BLACK PANTHER will be released July 2018.
