Jesse Eisenberg’s BREAM GIVES ME HICCUPS is to be adapted into an Amazon comedy.
The humorous short stories were originally published in McSweeney’s and will be developed into a half-hour comedy. They follow a nine-year-old aspiring restaurant critic, who is taken to various eateries by his alcoholic mother. He reviews everything, often in an amusingly honest fashion, sometimes taking his friend Matthew along.
There are 12 stories in all, with the final one being published at the end of 2013. Eisenberg will write, direct and executive produce the show, whilst A24’s Ravi Nandan and John Hodges will also serve as executive producers.
This is the latest in a long line of projects for Eisenberg. He will star opposite Jason Segel in END OF THE TOUR and has upcoming roles in BATMAN V SUPERMAN, LOUDER THAN THE BOMBS. He is currently filming NOW YOU SEE ME: THE SECOND ACT, which will see him reprise his role as cocky magician J. Daniel Atlas, and is expected to appear in self-penned play THE SPOILS. It tells the tale of a man who wants to win his ex-girlfriend back from her rich Wall Street banker fiancé.
