There’s method acting and then there’s taking it too far – depending on how you feel about rats, you may not mind what Jared Leto did to his SUICIDE SQUAD co-star Margot Robbie…
Jared Leto is certainly working hard to completely embody his role as The Joker in the upcoming DC film by sending his co-stars some unusual gifts.
Co-star Adam Beach, who plays supervillain Slipknot, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that among the presents, Leto gave Margot Robbie a live rat, as you do!
“He sent her a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it – a live rat,” Beach said. “It was beautiful.
“Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter.”
Beach continued by recalling that the cast were given a dead hog, which was accompanied with a video message from Leto.
He explained: “Basically, what he said was, ‘Guys, I can’t be there but I want you to know I’m doing my work as hard as you guys”.
“The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realised that day, this is real.“
The casting ensemble is pretty impressive for this movie about a dysfunctional team group of supervillains led on a mission of redemption by solider Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman). Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman(Rick Flag), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), along with a few others whose roles haven’t been disclosed, including Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, and Ike Barinholtz are also onboard the project.
SUICIDE SQUADÂ is scheduled for release August 5th, 2016.
