Their Finest Hour And A Half

Shooting may have already started in London last week on romantic comedy THEIR FINEST HOUR AND A HALF from AN EDUCATION helmer Lone Scherfig, but the cast list is still continuing to grow.

As seen in the photo below, Gemma Arterton and Bill Nighy have already signed on to the project and can be seen in the first still from the production and now Jack Huston and Jake Lacy have joined the expanding cast. Also aboard are Sam Claflin, Richard E. Grant, Helen McCrory, Eddie Marsan, Rachael Stirling and Henry Goodman.

Their Finest Hour And A Half

The 1940s set film is a screwball battle of the sexes that follows the misadventures of a British movie crew trying to make a patriotic film to boost morale during the Blitz. Arterton plays a female screenwriter finding her way in matters of life, death and the heart.

BBC Films developed and will co-finance with Wales Screen and Pinewood Films. Produced by Number 9 Films and Wildgaze Films, led by Stephen Woolley and Amanda Posey, it’s based on the novel by Lissa Evans and was adapted by Gaby Chiappe. Hanway is handling international. Lionsgate acquired UK rights in Cannes.

Huston will next be seen on the big screen in BEN-HUR and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, which are both in post-production. Lacy will next be seen in Todd Haynes’ CAROL.
