The epic-action adventure DRACULA UNTOLD has released its second trailer – and it is fantastic!

The film is a cinematic re-envisioning of the famous vampire’s origins – one that sees him as more of a dark superhero, complete with a tragic backstory (even before his transformation) than a bloodsucking demon. The film is tipped to be different to other Dracula style movies as the storyline is heavily informed by the actual history of Vlad Tepes, a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) who was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for his supernatural horror icon.

Dracula Untold

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Gods of Egypt) penned the script. – and it’s all about firsts in this film.  The movie goes back to when Dracula FIRST becomes a vampire, Luke Evans has taken on his FIRST leading role playing the part of Vlad Tepes and Gary Shore is in the director’s chair for his FIRST feature.

The story is set in the 15th century, as Vlad (Evans) finds his homeland facing the threat of invasion by the Ottoman Empire, led by the ruthless Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper).

Desperate to find a way to defend his people, Vlad ends up striking a Faustian bargain with an ancient evil (Charles Dance) that allows him to gain incredible powers that will help him win the war – but, eventually, at a terrible cost to his own soul.

Evans is joined alongside Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Diarmaid Murtagh, Charlie Cox, and Charles Dance.

The film looks as though it has all the makings to be an autumn blockbuster for Legendary Pictures’ and Universal with its release date near Halloween and the genre of the movie puts it one step ahead, as there is no other film of this style being released around this time.

If the film is anything near as good as the trailer, it should be a corker! We can’t wait!

Dracula Untold will hit regular and IMAX cinemas on October 3rd in the UK and on October 17th in the US.
