Tom Hiddleston Idris Elba

Tom Hiddleston fans, hold on to your seats, your favourite Asgardian WILL be appearing in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

Tom Hiddleston, who plays Thor’s mischievous brother, Loki, will not be the only familiar face to delight Marvel fans, Idris Elba, who plays the stoic Heimdall, has revealed that he will also be appearing in the second instalment.

We’re not sure if this suppose to be hush, hush classified information, but the actor let slip the news in an interview the Daily Telegraph while talking about his other profession as a DJ. “I’m in Avengers,” he revealed, apparently while laughing in the face of Marvel’s careful media strategy. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, and they’re like, ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?’ ” Boom, crash, clang… cue lots of hysteria and excitement…

The news will no doubt delight fans of THOR who enjoy seeing the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) battle it out and bring sibling rivalry to life on screen alongside Loki (Hiddleston). Great news for us, but not for Elba. Due to his commitments to filming the scene, he felt he couldn’t give his all behind the decks. “That’s why I was p***** about my set yesterday. I really just wasn’t there. I was annoyed.”

There will be lots of opportunities to see Elba, Hiddleston and Hemsworth together in the future, as after the successes of the thunder god’s own series, which started with THOR in 2011, and with the duo appearing in the first Avengers movie, where the 33-year-old Hiddleston caused even more mischief, we now know that we WILL see them reunited in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, which is scheduled for release on May 1st 2015. If that isn’t enough exciting news, we know there will be a third Thor film RAGNAROK which hits cinemas in July 28th 2017 as revealed in Marvel’s Phase 3 plans.

Tom Hiddleston looks set for an even busier few years ahead, with Marvel producer Kevin Feige confirming that the Brit will appear in the third and fourth Avengers films – INFINITY WAR PART 1 AND 2, slated for May 4th 2018 and May 3rd 2019 respectively.

With all of these commitments ahead, we don’t think Mr Hiddleston will be planning any holidays any time soon…
