Are WARNER BROS planning a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child film? Will Daniel Radcliffe star?
Are we likely to be seeing a new Harry Potter back on the big screen in 2020? Well, quite possibly. According to The Express, a Hollywood source confirmed the news that HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD is being billed to hit the big screen despite the studio wanting to keep it all hush-hush.
According to the source, “Warners is secretly working on getting the movie rights and a screenplay settled.
“Of course in their minds only one man should be Harry.” In mid-July Warner Bros filed for copyright on the title Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Rather excitedly, we don’t have long to wait now until the Studio’s FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM film trilogy lights up cinemas, but it is also reported that Rowling is scripting the new movie, with a release date for CURSED CHILD looking as soon as 2020.
We can’t imagine watching Harry Potter without Daniel Radcliffe. He is Harry Potter! So will he return to play the 40-year-old Harry? The source had something to say on that too: “He has made it clear that his mind is certainly not focused on returning to the role anytime soon — and that could be until he hits 40.
“Daniel had that job for over a decade with huge success and critical acclaim, but since then he has really established himself as a very strong actor with films like The Woman in Black and his Broadway work.
“He doesn’t need to go back for money or to reboot his career, so he will need some persuading.”
With so much speculation surrounding the issue, Radcliffe did share some comments a couple of months back about the prospect of picking up his wand and reprising his role once again: “It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary.”
Will there be a film version of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHID? Will Daniel Radcliffe be on board? We may just have to wait and see.

I love Daniel as Harry but he is too young and will need so much makeup he would look bad for sure? Idk, good luck anyway but that book wasn’t very good either. 😕
Yes exactly, Josy. He would require a lot of prosthetics to age him to make him look in his 40s. I guess it’s a bit like Bond – the actor always changes and we quickly adjust! 😉
