Ghostbusters

The Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles welcomed some very special guests onto the red carpet for the Ghostbusters World Premiere and there were many familiar faces both new and old in attendance for the event.

Past Ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Director Ivan Reitman, original theme song writer Ray Parker Jr., and Ghostbusters fan Kevin Smith shared their thoughts on the latest film and the new Ghostbusters including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Director Paul Feig could also not hide their enthusiasm about the movie.

Chris Hemsworth was noticeably absent from the premiere due to his filming commitments in Australia for the THOR: RAGNAROK.

The new GHOSTBUSTERS film sees Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy as scientists Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, respectively. Gilbert is a particle physicist while Yates, Gilbert’s close friend, is an expert in the paranormal. As ghost sightings ramp up, they team with Kate McKinnon‘s Jillian Holtzmann, a nuclear engineer who winds up creating the team’s techLeslie Jones‘ Patty Tolan, then, is the team’s everyman character who winds up playing an important role connected to an early supernatural encounter. 

The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as the new secretary, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as a character named “Hawkins,” Matt Walsh as a character named “Rourke,” and Neil Casey as the film’s villain. New York City’s NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan is also set to appear as news anchor in the film.

The GHOSTBUSTERS movie is being brought to the big screen by Paul Feig who also penned the screenplay with Katie Dippold.
