Award winning crime drama PRISON BREAK is rumoured to be revived for a limited series by Fox. Little is known at this stage, but the spin-off is said to be similar to 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY with a dozen episodes and a closed-ended storyline.

The original 2005 series which came to an end in 2009 follows Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) who deliberately gets himself sent to prison to break out his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) who has been framed for murder and sentenced to death.

In an interview with E! News earlier this year at the Winter TCA Press Tour, Miller spoke about the possibility of a Prison Break revival, “We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest. They seemed to think there was something there.” Purcell continued, “It’s something that Fox is, as Wentworth said, potentially excited about,” with Miller quickly adding, “Maybe definitely excited about. Maybe definitely.”

Miller had even put thought into potential ideas for the series, “To go back and do something like we did at the end of season four, where there were those two standalone episodes were Sarah was in trouble; it was like a hidden chapter, we didn’t know this, but we’re going to share this with you, wouldn’t it be cool to go back and layer one of those things in. Like another standalone chapter, this is what you didn’t see before. Or a where are they now, it’s five years later, limited series kind of thing. I think that’d be really cool.

Miller and Purcell have since teamed up again on THE FLASH and are set to reunite once more for The CW series DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.
