From Stephen Daldry, the director of Billy Elliott comes new movie TRASH.
Universal Pictures’ have released their trailer for TRASH – an upcoming British adventure drama/thriller film directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Richard Curtis, based on a 2010 novel of same name by Andy Mulligan. Â
The film stars Rooney Mara, Martin Sheen, Wagner Moura and Selton Mello.
The film is set in an unnamed city where 14 year-old teenager Raphael (Rickson Teves), Gordo (Eduardo Luis)Â and Rato (Gabriel Weinstein)Â spend their time picking through litter in the hope of finding useful waste. Â
One day they discover a leather bag whose contents will bring them into conflict with the brutal local police force as they find themselves unlikely whistleblowers in a city rife with corruption…Â
Judging by the trailer, we can expect explosions, violence, corruption and an inspiring performance from the trio of teenage film leads. Â They offer some hope in what looks like a world of chaos. Â When asked why they are doing what they are doing – and their simple, but emotional response is ‘…because it’s right.‘
