Paramount Pictures has released our first look at the war satire WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, starring Tina Fey, Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman.
The photos were first made available via USA Today from the film, which is an adaptation of journalist Kim Barker’s wartime memoir, The Taliban Shuffle, the dark comedy recounts Barker’s experiences covering conflicts in Afghanistan and Pakistan, her fish-out-of-water experience and the challenges of being a woman in wartime Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“For me to get to do a movie where I fly in helicopters and shoot guns and run from explosions, that’s a treat,” Fey says. “I don’t get to do any of those things on a daily basis. It couldn’t have been a more thrilling experience. I’m not supposed to be on SNL, I’m not supposed to be here making this movie. I should just be in suburban Pennsylvania being a high school teacher. The idea of someone having a very large life experience that no one would have expected was something very easy for me to connect with.”
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT also stars Alfred Molina, Nicholas Braun, Christopher Abbott, Sheila Vand, Stephen Peacocke, Evan Jonigkeit and Billy Bob Thornton.
The film is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa from a screenplay by Robert Carlock. The producers are Lorne Michaels, Tina Fey and Ian Bryce are on producing duties.
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT is scheduled for release on March 4th, 2016.
