When Ed Sheeran isn’t busy being best pals with Taylor Swift, and pulling on our heartstrings with ballads, he’s out getting jobs as an actor. Yes you heard me right, Ed Sheeran can now add acting to his list of skills.
The British singer has been confirmed as a recurring cast member on Kurt Sutter’s new FX drama THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER.
The show is set to be a bloody affair, and although details are being held at bay, it has been revealed that Sheeran’s role will see him playing an ambitious man, who will be groomed by a high-ranking elder into what could be a lethal character. The series tells the story of a 14th century warrior whose life is changed when a divine messenger asks him to lay down his sword and lead the life of a journeyman executioner.
Filming began this month in the UK and the all-star ensemble includes TRUE BLOOD’s Stephen Moyer and SONS OF ANARCHY’s Katey Sagal. THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER, which will hit TV screens this autumn, counts Brian Grazer and Paris Barclay among its executive producers.
Sheeran can now add himself to the ever growing list of musicians Sutter has used in his shows, with both Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson having been cast in the final series of his hit show SONS OF ANARCHY.
