winnie-the-pooh

It is no surprise really to see another popular book and TV character being given the movie treatment and this time Disney is creating a live-action adaptation of WINNIE THE POOH.

Deadline are reporting that the studio has asked QUEEN OF EARTH writer-director Alex Ross Perry to adapt its own animated classic for live action.

The honey-loving bear, Winnie the Pooh has always been a much-loved character and it is believed that the film adaptation will centre on Christopher Robin reconnecting with the loveable bear as an adult, and is based on characters from the work of acclaimed author AA Milne.

It is no surprise to see the studio trying to capitalise on the recent box office successes of MALEFICENT and CINDERELLA and they already have various other films in the pipeline, including BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JUNGLE BOOK, MULAN, PETE’S DRAGON and DUMBO.

WINNIE THE POOH will be the latest of many in a continuing series of Disney animated properties being adapted into live-action films.

Are you looking forward to seeing Winnie the Pooh on the big screen, or are you bored of hearing about the continuous flow of live adaptations? Vent your thoughts below…
