Deadpool

The Merc With A Mouth has a sequel in sight…

DEADPOOL only arrived in cinemas today, yet it’s already rumoured that Fox have given the greenlight for a sequel.

Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are believed to be attached to pen the sequel but there’s no word yet as to whether director Tim Miller will have any involvement.

DEADPOOL’s first solo outing details the character’s origin, and hunt for his tormentors. The movie stars: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand, and Leslie Uggams.

The character previously appeared in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, as an all-powerful zombie monstrosity with its mouth sewn shut.

Deadpool

DEADPOOL DEBUTED IN a 1991 issue of ‘New Mutants’ by Rob Liefield and Fabian Nicieza. He was introduced as an antagonist hired to battle the team of young X-Men wannabes, then led by the character’s long term frenemy Cable. Unlike the majority of 90s comic book debutants whom met their ends by: a grenade exploding in one of their many belts of pouches, crumbling under the weight of a gigantically enormous gun, DEADPOOL’s popularity has only increased.

Over the years, DEADPOOL has transformed from mercenary anti-hero to superhero: joining X-Force, a group of Deadpools from alternate worlds, and a team of Avengers. Who’d have thought a killer for hire would fit in alongside side Marvel’s premier team of all-American boy scouts.

The character has set himself from the other heroes as the smart anti-hero everyone loves to hate. Pushing boundaries by not only being a most unheroic hero but also by: breaking the Fourth Wall, having a passion for blood splatter, and just being a bit of a trouble maker.

DEADPOOL is out now in cinemas with the sequel possibly being released on June 2nd 2017 – which was initially reserved for a FANTASTIC FOUR sequel – or July 13th 2018.
