Casey Affleck is a man whose name is constantly in the media at the moment as the award season is underway, having bagged a Golden Globe award for his sensational performance in MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and now the Oscar nominee is juggling his interview duties and red carpet appearances around his new upcoming movie, LIGHT OF MY LIFE.
According to Deadline, Casey Affleck is set to begin principal photography on LIGHT OF MY LIFE this month in Vancouver. The film will see Affleck not only starring in the film, but also calling the shots on this one too. The actor will no doubt be comfortable in the director’s chair for the movie, as he has also penned the script for the survival drama too. Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity is renewing its relationship with Affleck, boarding international sales on the film after recently handling his latest movie MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, which has seen him surge into the limelight.
Teddy Schwarzman is producing LIGHT OF MY LIFE via Black Bear Pictures, which is also financing the project. Sierra will make the project available to buyers for the first time at the EFM next week.
LIGHT OF MY LIFE tells the story of a father (Affleck) and daughter (Anna Pniowsky) who are living on the outskirts of society a decade after a deadly pandemic has radically altered the world as we know it. As Dad struggles to protect his daughter’s innocence, shielding her from the newfound dangers of man, their bond and the character of humanity is tested.
This synopsis may explain the big beard that Affleck has been growing in recent months in preparation for his new role.
Affleck is set to be a busy man as he will also be on the promotion trail for his upcoming movies VILLAIN which is a thriller he stars in and he also penned the screenplay for that one too and later in the year the highly anticipated A GHOST STORY will be released which sees him reunited with his AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTSÂ co-star Rooney Mara.
