It has been announced that there will be a movie made about the Boston Marathon Bombings that occurred April 15th 2013.

Casey Affleck

According to Variety, Casey Affleck will both produce and star in the up and coming drama, which is based on the book Boston Strong, written by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge. The book is set to release in February next year but it seem’s the movie has already gotten a script from Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy.

It is thought that the project will go to studios next week and with an already impressive cast and crew, there’s little doubt that it will fall into the right hands.

The Boston Marathon Bombings killed 3 people and injured an estimated 264 others when two pressure cooker bombs exploded.

The lesser known Affleck brother has clocked up an impressive list of performances including Gone Baby Gone and Ocean’s Eleven, but this is only his second time as a fully fledged director/producer. That being said, I think we’re in safe hands, as his off-beat mockumentary, I’m Still Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix, divided critics, but has become something of a cult hit with audiences.

As an actor, Affleck is going to appear in Christopher Nolan’s much anticipated Interstellar and is currently shooting drama The Finest Hour.
