Angelina Jolie looks close to home for a new leading man for her latest film AFRICA…
UNBROKEN director Angelina Jolie didn’t have to look far from a megastar leading man for her new flick AFRICA, as husband Brad Pitt is in talks for the role.
The film will be a biopic of paleo-archaeologist Richard Leakey and his clashes in the 1980’s with ivory poachers threatening the existence of African elephant population. FORREST GUMP writer Eric Roth has been working on a script.
Here’s what Jolie had to say about her connection to the story; “I’ve felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life, and was taken with Eric’s beautiful script about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man’s footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him.”
It’s great to see Jolie using her star status and directing talent to raise awareness about the issue of ivory poaching and with Brad Pitt to star, this looks like a promising flick for 2016!
Both Pitt and Jolie have finished working together since MR AND MRS SMITH with flick BY THE SEA, directed by Jolie also.
