The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today confirmed of a number of nominees, presenters and other attendees of this Sunday’s EE British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Opera House, London.
Hosted by Stephen Fry, the ceremony will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC One HD at 21.00 on Sunday 14 February. A special red carpet show will be broadcast on BBC Three, hosted by Angela Scanlon at 20.30.
Nominees confirmed to date include (in alphabetical order): Aaron Sorkin, Adam McKay, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Alex Garland, Alicia Vikander, Asif Kapadia, Bel Powley, Benicio Del Toro, Bryan Cranston, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Dakota Johnson, Eddie Redmayne, Idris Elba, John Boyega, Julie Walters, Hou Hsiao-Hsien,Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Maggie Smith, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara, Saoirse Ronan, Steven Spielberg, Taron Egerton, Todd Haynes and Tom Hooper.
Presenters and other attendees confirmed to date include (in alphabetical order): Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, Angela Bassett, Domhnall Gleeson, Cuba Gooding Jr, Douglas Booth, Emilia Clarke, Jack O’Connell, Julianne Moore, Matt Smith, Rebel Wilson, Riz Ahmed, Sacha Baron Cohen, Stanley Tucci, Will Poulter and Sonoya Mizuno.
As previously announced, Angels Costumes is to receive the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award and Sir Sidney Poitier is to be honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship. The Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award will be collected by Tim Angel OBE, however Sir Sidney will be unable to make the trip to London to receive his Fellowship in person because his health advisors recommend he refrain from transatlantic travel at this time.
